How We Started
Skipper's Seafood Story

Chet had a vision of how he could change his life and the world for the better. No matter what it took, Chet promised himself that he would spend the rest of his life helping others in any way he could while making a living selling the freshest seafood in the world. So, Chet started planning.

He used that time wisely and mapped out an idea of how he could create a successful seafood business. This dream gave Chet hope, and he became determined to reach success and create a brighter future for himself and his seafood business while emercing himself into and helping his community.

Epic Journey

Chet immediately started living up to the promises he made to himself. He began an epic journey, traveling by foot across the state of Florida, looking for nothing more than the chance to help anyone he met in any way he could. Through those travels, Chet began to feel peace, and his confidence in his vision only grew. But while he was making good on his promise to help others, he still did not have the seafood business he imagined.
That changed in 2021. In January, Chet resolved to return to the world of business with his newfound sense of purpose. Just three months after making that choice, he received a call from an old acquaintance named Ann Wallace. Ann gave Chet word that Skipper's Seafood was for sale and that he had the chance to purchase the business if he wished.

Successfully Conducting Business Since 1990.

After receiving that news, Chet could not believe his ears. Skipper's Seafood had been successfully conducting business since 1990, and Chet already had a personal connection to the company. When Chet was young, he was an employee at Skipper's. The opportunity to now own the business made Chet feel as though his story had come full circle.

On March 16th, Chet made the buyout official and became the new owner of Skipper's Seafood. Thanks to his careful planning, his promise to help the world, and his talented team, Chet's new business venture met success immediately, serving the local community and shipping seafood across the county. That success has only grown and continues to grow to this day. As his customers will attest, under Chet's leadership, Skipper's Seafood has provided the best-quality seafood and a welcoming environment for all. Since Chet became owner, he has expanded with a second location Skippers Dock & Steam Machine, launched Skippers Fresh Seafood website, and has a third location at Camp Gulf in the works!

Our Mission

It's easy to let quick success go to your head, but Chet did not. Instead, he remained true to himself and his mission to make positive change in the world. Chet created a foundation called ASH Florida, which stands for aware, save, and help. Much like Chet himself, the foundation assists anyone who needs it by recognizing who needs help, intervening to save lives, and being proactive in giving aid to those in need. Still, Chet's mission is far from over. While Skipper's Seafood is flourishing today, Chet hopes to make it even more successful in the future. Chet's current goal is to expand from two Skipper's Seafood locations to 20 locations across the state of Florida. Of course, Chet's ability to help others through his ASH Florida foundation will grow along the way as well. Skipper's Seafood is and will always be about more than selling the freshest seafood. The team will also remain determined to lend a helping hand to anyone, regardless of who they are, where they come from, and what assistance they need.
